Coffee Up! Coffee Extract Beauty Products
3:51 PMThe beauty world is always on the look out for the next big thing in a tube, tub or pump dispenser to make us look younger, beautiful, sexy etc. Coffee as a star ingredient is by no means a new thing, and is already being used in products by some of your favourite companies and is a cottage industry on Etsy.
There is a new aussie company called Frank Body, which has taken to using unused coffee grounds as the active ingredient in a variety of body skin care products. Obviously, scrubbing your skin is going to slough off dry skin and improve your circulation from the repetitive rubbing movements on your skin leading to a better appearance superficially.
Frank Body released their skin products solely through Instagram and now have 659,000 followers which has amassed quite quickly. Instagram is absolutely a great way to market your company and a new novel sounding product.
Does it work? Scientists, when queried if this form of coffee/caffeine has active benefits through topical application is a jury's out situation. If you never used products to rub into your skin as a scrub then you are going to have a good result simply from removing dead skin and blood flow improvement. If you happen to appreciate a coffee infused product for its usability, its price point, the company's ethos that's fine.
I think coffee grounds will be continued to be used in some beauty products but this is going to be up to the individual consumer as to whether you think its a wonder product for your skin.
If it works for you, do it!
