About me
I started this blog back in 2011 and have let it go and started it up again but the intention behind it has always been the same and that is to help others be buyer aware. We all want to look young, beautiful, amazing and healthy. We as consumers want the products that are made available to us to be able to imbue us with these qualities. Alas, not all products are created equal nor is only one person's view is definitive. We all have different needs from products. The one thing though I think we can all agree on is wanting the products to actually do what they purport to do so we have not wasted our hard earned money. Which is why I chose to start this blog. I started a while ago but never ended up following through with things until recent times.
With skincare especially, many claims are made to the consumer. This product can reduce your fine lines and wrinkles studies have shown. "78% of women say it makes their skin smooth and plump and the wrinkles have gone!" and so on. The evidence supplied is hardly ever questioned. People don't have time, don't care, naive, seduced by marketing and/or packaging etc to bother to investigate any further of the products of their skincare.
I had read the product reviews on beautypedia.com and have read a few of Paula Begoun's books such as "Don't go to the beauty counter without me! where she and her team dissect and often dismiss many claims made up by the companies hawking their beauty and skincare products to us through a variety of advertising methods. I wanted to create a similar concept of product reviews that also aims to educate the reader with links in the blog post on the product ingredients so the reader can choose to read more about those particular ingredients and thus educating the reader on whether that is a helpful ingredient to have in a product for purchase.
I also will write about tips I have learned along the way in life in regards to beauty and what is new in the world of beauty and grooming.
So with the skin care reviews I post, I am going to investigate their ingredients and see if the product really is going to benefit my skin or not. Beautypedia covers so many product brands but it does not cover them all including makeup. So with that in mind I hope to be able to accomplish something similar to beautypedia.com, beautyheaven.com and Makeup Alley and I appreciate them all. It will take some time to build up and I am treating this blog as a lesson in all things blog as I am wanting to learn everything that needs to happen myself to have a successful blog. Its a project! so please bear with me.
Many thanks for reading this.
