Revlon Photoready Primer, Shadow and Sparkle Eyeshadow 501 Metropolitan
7:00 PMI have always been wary of buying Revlon eyeshadows as my one previous experience was with the Shadow Links which were small mono eye shadows that you could link together and make your own palette. Great idea but the shadow quality was beyond dismal. I don't think they sell those anymore and for good reason!

The palette echoes the eye shape and brow on your face in its layout. It contains it's own sparkly peach eye primer, a chocolate brown lid colour, pewter grey glittery crease colour, shimmer peach brow highlight and gold glitter top coat. I found it a little odd because everything sparkles, even the primer which turned out to be a spray over on the brown shade. There is instructions on the back of the palette to create a look and this was also odd to me as it recommended applying the crease colour in the crease except its got glitter in it, which is usually anathema to most people who wear eyeshadow as a glittery crease is not the norm HOWEVER, you can apply any element how you wish. As usual, there is two different small sponge applicators which are helpful for tapping on product on the lid if you don't want to use your fingers, like for applying the glitter top coat.
Using the primer provided, applying the instructed lid colour; the brown, goes on like a dream. Applying the pewter grey crease shade is not so great. It brings the sparkles but the pigment blends in muddily with the brown and in my opinion ruins the brown shade and the look thus far. You are advised to apply the primer up to the eyebrow bone and then apply the peach shimmer colour. When I apply the gold glitter top coat, the glitter disbursed unevenly and unattractively with your brush or sponge tip. I am going to try some other variations on this product.
I have really experimented with the palette and interestingly, I prefer them separately with other products rather than all together as a cohesive look as recommended on the reverse of the palette.
The glitter gold top coat works beautifully with Too Faced Glitter Eyeshadow Primer and stays in place very well indeed. I have used the pewter grey on the lid with other colours and that was great. The peach shimmer is ok nothing special. The brown I love, it is a very rich beautiful brown.
I recommend this product if you are ok with being able to use it with other products and that you may not be happy with the end result of the recommended way to use the product. This really is subjective on what you like. I got this palette with 25% off the $25.00 price AUD.
