Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette Contouring Eye Shadows 01 Cappuccino Nudes and 02 Golden Nudes
4:40 PMStorytime
I found the two out of three released palettes of Max Factor's version of nudes and neutral shadows, the third palette being a rose themed palette which was not available at the time I bought these ones.
I have not had a good experience with Max Factor eye shadows thus far and I really hope that these would change that fact.

The first palette is 01 Cappuccino Nudes and there is a mix of matte and shimmer shades from cream to black and some interesting shades in between. 02 Golden Nudes is a lovely looking palette also with the same mix of textures.
Below in this photo are swatches of the 01 Cappuccino Nudes palette, as you can see from the top of my rolled up sleeve down to my wrist area, are the shades swatched from lightest to darkest.
- Points on 01 Cappuccino Nudes
- Stand out shades for me are the cool rose gold No 5 left - right and No 2 a mocha brown
- There is fall out
- Includes ingredients that can be problematic for some people such as:Liquid Paraffin and Talc
The two photos immediately above are the 02 Golden Nudes palette and once again the paler shades both matte and shimmer, from the top of my arm down the darkest to my wrist, are severely lacking in pigment and texture. The four colours that are passable are the bright gold, olive brown gold, rust gold and the olive brown shade. The shades are a little iridescent but that feature fades not very long after, unless you sit and pack colour on continuously. They also transfer into the crease line which is highly annoying for creating a specific look. For my example I used the matte cream, the olive brown shade, the matte light brown shade and a smidge of black. The other colours just end up mucking up and giving a look reminiscent of the The Balm La Balmba Vol 1
Points on 02 Golden Nudes
- The medium brown matte shade is very lackluster in performance
- The bright gold shade is very soft be careful!
- Fingers are a good idea to apply the shimmers
- The darker colours look good but are not that great I feel, they blend to look muddy and there is too many shimmer shades in this palette
- None of the shimmer shades keep up their look; i.e. they fade pretty fast
- The black is not pure strong black it is very weak
- Lots of fall out
To be honest, I am not really a fan of these two palettes. The quality is very hit and miss and the shades don't stay true to their colour once on the lid. Especially the Golden Nudes because all the shimmer ones have gold in them they overlap far too easily and just muddy up. Even though you blend your shadow, its still nice to see where the colour gradient starts from one to the other softly rather than just mix and create one odd muddy colour.
I cannot speak for the third palette that was rose themed but with these two they could have potentially been amazing. I would rate the 01 Cappuccino Nudes 4/10 and the Golden Nudes 3/10 and leave my recommendation at that.
