I was looking for a cheaper, cruelty free eyeshadow primer to replace my Too Faced Shadow Insurance as its good but heavily over priced I believe.

I bought this one from Beautybay and I was so happy with the results! It's in a squeeze tube and is a very light beige shade that disappears once on the eyelid.

This primer is great! I have worn it in hour long aerobics sessions, hot summer days and my eye makeup has stayed put.

I definitely recommend this cheap and cheerful hardwearing eye primer!

This is my first mascara from Stila.

This mascara is excellent at lifting, defining, giving length and non clumpy lashes!  The formula is not too wet and not too dry its just right!

The curl/lift does drop after a while but not as bad as some mascaras and the pigment is good but I would prefer even blacker.  The wand reminds me a lot of Better than Sex and Lash Paradise with the hourglass kind of shape and the packaging is in a gold tube.



Now the downside.  Pretty quickly I found I would get a ring of black pigment like a shadow of the mascara under my eyes.  Whether I do a lot of activity or nothing much this occurs.  Its not dark black but its definitely there.  Which sucks because it doesn't transfer up top, it doesn't flake but it does seem to bleed pigment.  Now it is summertime here in Australia and maybe in cold weather it would perform better in this regard.



The two photos above illustrate the lower lid smudging that occurs just in a few hours wear!

Otherwise I would definitely recommend this mascara but with the caveat of watch out for The Ring!

This moisturiser lives up to it's name of Daily Benefits! An oil free, sheer emulsion, it contains Vitamin E, Sodium Hyaluronate and Retinyl Palmitate.  It comes in an opaque, pump bottle so the ingredients are protected from oxidation and bacteria.  It does have a slight fragrance but quickly evaporates after application.

The hyaluronic is no joke I have a deep wrinkle under my left eye and this product fills it up completely! Hence why the name Daily Benefits is so apt! I experienced some skin peeling with the retinyl palmitate mainly on my nose which really needed it and in the area between my eyebrows and was left with fresh, smooth skin. 

I use this moisturiser in conjunction with Glyco Skincare Cellular Defence Day Creme SPF 15+, and Banana Boat Sensitive SPF 50+.  That is my daily routine after cleansing with Glyco Skincare Peptide AOX Cleansing Gel. 

Every product I buy and try (as you receive two samples with each order which is awesome) I fall in love with and become addicted to!

This moisturiser is perfect for those who don't like heavy formulas and is great for the summer time too as it absorbs into the skin in seconds.

I definitely recommend this product!

This mascara has a different wand to the original Super Sizer.  It's a big plastic bristle wand with a curve in it.  It's a volumising mascara not lengthening so you might be disappointed if you are wanting a lengthening product.  However, this mascara definitely can curl your lashes and define them in a pretty way.  I am still getting used to how to use the wand even though I have had it for at least a month. You can build up your lashes pretty well too with minimal clumping.



I have worn this all day at least 8 hours and I will say that the curl does drop out.  Perhaps if you curl your lashes first it might work better.  If its a hot environment, profuse sweating can cause product to cause a black shadow under your lower lash line its not obvious but it happens.  The product doesn't flake, or transfer.  I think it's a good mascara but I still prefer the original The Super Sizer.

I do recommend this product if you know what to expect.

This was my second foray into DB Cosmetics false lashes as I found them at my local chemist and was intrigued by them.  Having had a good first buy I was keen to buy more.  I picked a style I wouldn't normally choose; I usually choose demi wispie types i.e. with the small inner corner which gradually lengthens out to a fluffy wing.  Those lashes are very flattering for all eye types.




These lashes are almost the same length all the way around and have a doubled up outer corner.
They were quite  big in length and volume was good too.  As I found with Pinup the second review I wrote, this style does not wholly suit my eye shape which is almond, hooded and close set.  I need elongation to pull my eyes out further to give the illusion of more space in the bridge of the nose area, an optical illusion of sorts.  This is why I am a huge fan of winged eyes whether they be small wings or dramatic, either way they give length and depth.

I think this lash looks good and I have grown to love it more as time goes by.  Flirt is still number one thus far, with Feline at number two and Pinup in third place.

In terms of fit I only needed to trim them a little.  I had no issues with the lash itself which is great.  I definitely recommend the lashes as user friendly and would definitely buy again.

These lashes are ones I have avoided purely from the look of them because of my eye shape.  I feel lashes that look like these suit more rounder or regular shaped eyes.  My eyes are almond, hooded and close set.  And unfortunately I was right.  My favourite type of lash is the demi wispie shape where it flares out at the end and is shorter towards your inner corner.


I think on the right eye shape these would be far more beautiful than how they look on me.
I still think they look good just not as good as another lash of theirs the Flirt style really suits my eyes a lot more.



They are comfortable to wear and easy to apply.  

Otherwise, I think the DB Cosmetics faux mink lashes are great, I have three pairs but I have not written a third review yet on Feline.

I definitely recommend these lashes!

I have never used an eye cream until now.  I also didn't feel the need to use one also until now! I turned 39 in September and my eyes are puffier and there is a little bit of uneven pigmentation under there also and crows feet starting to grow deeper and longer. I started using the product in the first week of September and I apply it twice daily.  I noticed changes after a month had passed.



This eye cream targets eye concerns that many people struggle with namely darkness, puffiness, crows feet and improving clarity and firming under the eye and surrounding tissues.


For me this creme has de-puffed my under eye significantly so much so that even my father commented on my face looking particularly fresh and bright! Now that is the type of reaction I like to hear when I'm using a new skincare product! The area underneath looks bright and clear and I couldn't be happier with the results.

This is my first brow & eyeliner cream from ELF Cosmetics.  I have reviewed their black cream liner here.

This brow and liner cream is a great taupe blonde colour which is excellent for eyebrows as its not too warm and not too cool where it can appear green/grey.  I use a Napoleon Perdis Eye and Lip brush G3 to apply it and I just dip in lightly to the tub and gently add the cream to where I want to apply it.







I applied it before going to my athletic step aerobics class and whilst it was with fans and air con on, but I was hot and sweaty and the product barely moved on one side where the liner was not as thickly applied but the eye that it was applied thickly obviously was solid.

It applies smoothly although you can see a slightly jagged edge on the second eye which had more to be with the brush and me then the actual product.

I also love the colour with my blue eyes and will definitely try this as liner again in the future.

I definitely recommend.

This is a pencil product with a spoolie on one end.  The colour is great perfect even.  Its the right tone for a medium to light blonde.  The problem with this pencil is it is a tad too soft.  It kept its shape for the day but I didn't feel confident with it.


The pencil has already had to be sharpened after only one use on both brows.  I might try putting it in the fridge or freezer to see if that helps matters.

If DB Cosmetics alter the wax level that would be great in the formulation.

I will not recommend this pencil.

This cleanser made an immediate impression on me the first time I used it! Once you apply it to your face, the user is directed to leave it on the skin for ten seconds and then rinse off, I felt a smoothness and freshness as a layer of debris and skin were removed and it convinced me then and there this was going to be a great product.

As with all the products I have reviewed from Glyco Skincare; I have used them all since May 2018 and it is now the end of August 2018, the strong impression that this product was another winner from the get go, has been realised, long term.

This gel cleanser formulation contains chamomile as an active ingredient and it also gives the gel it's scent. It's a natural; not overtly fabricated scent and is equal parts unobtrusive and pleasant, especially if you are in a shower with the steam which amplifies the relaxing element chamomile is known for with a hint of ginger and grapefruit which provides you with a herbal spa like experience!

This cleanser will leave your face not just clean, but revitalised with the anti-oxidants and peptides contained within; it is a very enjoyable experience to add to your skincare regime! you can read about the individual ingredients below via the hyperlinks which are not affiliated with myself or the product in any way.

This cleanser is not just for face cleansing but for makeup removal also.  It is a gel formula that transforms to a milk texture that is rich and pleasant to use.  I used it on my eye makeup to see how well that performed and you can apply this product to a wet face or dry.  I applied it with a wet face.

This product removed all my makeup perfectly and does not irritate my eyes in any way.  It did a good job of breaking down liquid eyeliner, mascara, etc.  It also left my face feeling moisturised which is great. 

My areas for consideration when purchasing are for the fact that fragrances are included in the product which once again is up to the purchaser if that is a point of contention. The price is a bit high for what is primarily a makeup remover.  I would think around $20 - $25 would be more reasonable.

I definitely do recommend.

I don't usually have a good experience with Blonde specific eyebrow products because they are just too soft in their pigment it is hard to get a defined lines or areas.  Once again, it happened with this pencil.  There is another blonde shade called Blonde so I am unsure if that is even lighter or what.  There is other shades available and even though it has good reviews on the website, I cannot attest to that as I won't be purchasing the black but I may check out the brown.  The other thing was that the actual product is so hard! I run it along my hand and nothing comes off!

I checked the reviews on the Essence website and people seem to love it but I cannot see how.

I won't be able to recommend this pencil.

This is my first false lash by Designer Brands Cosmetics, an Australian drug store brand and I believe it is a new product for them and there is other styles available.

I found a new display at my local Amcal pharmacy of these faux mink false lashes by Designer Brands Cosmetics.

I chose the Flirt design. Basically, these are extremely easy to use lashes resembling a wispie style and have double layered lash ends for added accent.  They are very lightweight, fit onto my eye very easily *I have almond shaped and hooded eyes* I only needed to trim a little segment off the end.  They don't poke you and are very flattering to the eye.  I loved these ones so much, that I have now purchased another design called Feline which I haven't tried yet as I literally just purchased them today!



The box states that there is 15 wears on average but I am sure if you treat them kindly that they would last a bit more than that and they are priced at $11.99 each.

These lashes are highly flattering and I most certainly recommend!

This is my first ever product by the German brand Kryolan Professional Cosmetics.  Kryolan is often used in media, film and television and beauty schools for it's high quality and effective makeup products.  I purchased this palette from Australian online beauty retailer, Adore Beauty.

There is 18 shades in this matte bright variety palette.  There is a light fragrance that reminds me of something but I cannot put my finger on where I know it from.  There is a full mirror inside and there is a brush included.


These shades are great.  You can start sheer and build up to full intensity which is fabulous.  So far I already have favourite shades a bright melon colour and a lavender blue/periwinkle blue shade.  I wanted to buy a colourful bright matte palette and was going to get a Viseart one but for a bit more money in AUD Viseart $119 to $140 seemed a better deal for more shades, 18 to be precise, and I am so glad I went ahead.





Above are looks I have created with the palette (I have used other palettes for other colours or textures as needed but the majority is Kryolan. The third pic from the bottom was mainly Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette, except the green is from Kryolan.

The palette had a fragrance for awhile but now it seems to have faded.  It comes with a one end brush which I love using in the crease for specific definition of colour as it is very narrow across.
The lighter shades apply sheer but are easily built up.  I use a primer and powder to set it with, with every eyeshadow I use so I either do that or use Nyx Professional Cosmetics Milk pencil and blend that onto my lid as my base but I do not powder it as it doesn't seem to layer well.

The shadows don't have kick back unless you sit there and swirl your brush into it.  There is a palette size mirror inside which is great.  I have a natural bristle eye brush and synthetic and both pick up the shadows fine.  It is very finely milled as well.  For 18 shades you get a great variety of colours which are set out in gradients.  There is a shimmer palette as well available and neutral mattes too which I would love to buy those as well.  There is also some six pan palettes which are preselected and you can select your own too.

I love this palette so much, I am so glad I bought it and I recommend it if you want to experiment with colours that are already in a helpful setting being gradients which is great and the shades are so beautiful.

I am expanding my eyeliner collection to include coloured liquid and pencil liners.  I love this colour, Very Burgundy, it is very pigmented and smooth to apply, it smudges easily as well.  It is expensive at $35 AUD the same price as the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow. I have worn this eyeliner in summer and in an aerobics class which was very humid as there were so  many people in the class the air-con struggled.

There is lots of colours to choose from I basically want them all. The pencil is a retractable pen.  Now this brand is supposed to be cruelty free now and has the cruelty free bunny stamped on the website but in the ingredients below at the bottom there is a statement saying that Carmine may be present as a colourant.  Carmine is a red pigment which comes from a type of beetle species called a Cochineal which is a scale insect that lives in Mexico on cactus plants and is considered not a vegan free product and cruelty free ingredient.  Carmine is frequently found in red dyed products such as lollies.

I definitely recommend this product but if you are concerned about carmine you may want to find another product due to the vague information about whether carmine is part of this product or if it is not.  The ingredients list below contain hyperlinks so you can read about any ingredient in this eyeliner.  None of the links are affiliated with myself.

There is no rose scent! I have read many a review on ByTerry products from others that love the products but hate the scent they come with.  Thankfully the powder is free of any scent.  I have used this powder enough now to say that I think it is a very good powder, for under eye setting and all over the face setting.  It is not cake producing, glides over the skin, super finely milled it looks like powdered sugar in the jar not on your face!!.  Yes it is fairly expensive but being cruelty free and fragrance free kind of evens it out for me.

Definitely recommend!

This primer is wonderful for my oily/combination skin.  It definitely extends my foundation that without it, it would have worn off much earlier.  I also don't use setting sprays on even a regular basis either.

It is a clear, gel that feels super smooth on the skin and it fills in pores.  It definitely stops the deluge of oil that comes through around lunchtime everyday. 

I definitely recommend this product.

 Previously I had only used the Drunk Elephant Hydra B Intensive Gel moisturiser which I loved especially as I have oily/combination skin, gel moisturisers are a great option for oily skin.  I wanted to try Lala Retro out and I have been using for two months and I am almost finished probably another two weeks worth left.

Lala is housed in a jar with a push down pump to bring up the cream through the middle of the jar.  This is awesome because overall I don't trust the long term efficacy of traditional jar packaging because of the regular exposure to air and bacteria.  I gladly will pay money for a product that is using clever packaging to the benefit of the product and the consumer which of course is beneficial to the company.




It indeed is a light, whipped and creamy fast absorbing product.  There is no silicone's in this or sodium lauryl sulphates, fragrances, alcohol, essential oils which are very irritating to many people's skin and systems, chemical screens and dyes.  Because of these omitted substances, this product can lend itself to many people's skin types.  I use one product daily that has fragrance and you can really notice it when the rest of cosmetics and skincare is fragrance free.

It was voted by readers of Allure magazine as the best moisturiser and also contains six notable african oils.  I will highlight those in the ingredients and you can click the link to read about them.  The cream is packed with antioxidants, hydrating oils, vitamin c for skin brightening, sodium hylauronate for plumping of the skin, glycerin for protecting the skin as a barrier, passion fruit extract provides essential fatty acids and much more.

Does this product work though? It most definitely does! I now love both of the Drunk Elephant moisturiser's.  The creamier formulation did not clog my pores which can happen with other creamier formulations and give me pimples.  The main difference for me that I see is how rapidly the product absorbs which of course the gel absorbs immediately which is why it absorbs faster.  It might be the better option in the summer months and use Lala in the colder months.  Either way you cannot go wrong with either of them especially if you have a similar skin type as me.

My only real gripe is that it is very expensive at $88 AUD for 50mls.  However, I appreciate the product and its formulation and what the company stands for so I am willing to buy it and of course what the product does for my skin but I still try to use it prudently.

Definitely recommend. Ten out of ten.

As some of you may know now, NARS is now going to be sold in China and we all know what that means: Animal testing.  If you supported NARS before for their animal cruelty status then you would probably want to not purchase from them anymore.  They say that they are a global brand and that they need to abide by the country that they are sold in, laws.  I guess that is a euphemism for greed.
